Challenge
Countingwell’s platform was built for students, but the purchase decision rested firmly with parents. This created a unique communication problem.
Parents approached the category with caution. They were evaluating academic rigour, credibility and long-term learning value.Children, on the other hand, were responding instinctively to energy, interaction and visual engagement.
The brand therefore needed to address two very different expectations within the same ecosystem. It had to feel dependable enough for parents to trust, yet lively enough for students to willingly spend time with.
The challenge was to design a brand that could navigate these dual perspectives without splitting into two disconnected identities.
Goal
The goal was to build a cohesive brand architecture that could operate across both audiences while maintaining a singular identity.
For parents, the brand expression needed to convey clarity and educational credibility. For children, the experience had to introduce warmth, motion and visual cues that made the platform feel welcoming rather than intimidating.
We set out to develop a flexible design system where tone, colour and graphic elements could shift depending on the context, while still retaining a strong and recognisable core identity for Countingwell.





Result
Countingwell now operates with a layered brand system that comfortably accommodates both its audiences.
The foundational identity provides consistency and authority across communication directed at parents, reinforcing the the platform’s learning philosophy and systematic approach to math. Alongside this, a more expressive visual layer introduces colour, characters and playful graphic cues that resonate with students and make the platform feel inviting.
To support the in-app learning experience, we also developed an extensive visual asset library of 10,000+ custom images and GIFs, designed to guide, reward and visually support different stages of problem-solving across the platform.
Together, these elements create a unified yet adaptable brand language that supports both trust and engagement.
